Iseyin & The Art of Aso-Oke

Iseyin is known across Nigeria and beyond as the home of Aso-Oke, the handwoven cloth that has clothed Yoruba royalty and dignitaries for centuries. Walk through the town and you’ll still hear the rhythmic clatter of looms worked by hand, much as they were generations ago, by weavers who have inherited both the skill and the pride that comes with it.

For visitors, this is a living museum — an opportunity to watch a centuries-old craft unfold before your eyes, and if you wish, to bring a piece of it home with you. It is one of the many reasons Iseyin remains an unmissable stop for anyone interested in the depth and richness of Yoruba culture, and a highlight we’re glad to help our guests arrange during their stay.
